Founded in London in 2010, EWAAC (East West Art Award Competition) has since expanded to exhibit works of artists from across the globe. Considered as a gateway to international success for artists, its primary mission is to showcase great works of emerging and established artists as well as uncover exceptional talent.
This is our 8th year, and EWAAC accepts entries from around the world for six categories of art, including photography and video.

  We have the six following categories for entry:

  • Art (2D-1) : One-off originals such as paintings, drawings etc.
  • Art (2D-2) :  Works that can be duplicated such as printmaking, etching, digital arts etc.
  • Art (3D) : Sculpture, ceramics, crafts, glass works etc.
  • Photography : Including retouched digital photography.
  • Contemporary Art-II : Installation, conceptual art and any other unconventional modes of expression.
  • Video: Short film and animation. The length must be within five minutes.​​

  • Grand Prize : £2000 cash or £500 + automatic selection for our Artist in Residence programme (AIR) in Kyoto  where you can stay in Kyoto for two weeks free of charge and enjoy many workshops we organize.
  • Best category prize : £100 for each category + certificate of merit
  • Olympus Prize : Olympus's latest model camera + certificate.
  • Raymond Brownell Prize : Certificate of merit.
  • Encouragement Prize : Certificate of merit.
  • Suwa Best Glass work prize : £180 + exhibition at Suwa, Japan 
  • Best public vote for video showcase online.
  • ​All selected finalists : To be invited to exhibit the selected work ​at La Galleria, Pall Mall, London in October.

  • Call for entries: 25 April - 30 June 2017

  • Announcement of the selection: 1 September, 2017
  • EWAAC finalists'  exhibition: 24 - 28 October, 2017
  • Opening party : 24 October (6:30 - 9:00 pm) at La Galleria
  • Award Ceremony : 26 October (6:30 - 9:00 pm) at La Galleria

 Fees for this special launch event
  • £20 per entry. £50 for 3 entries then £10 extra for each additional entry.

EWAAC 2017 Entry Form

  1. Fill in the entry form by pressing the blue button on the right. The link will be activated after 24th April, 2017.
  2. Pay your entry fee by Paypal.
  3.  Upload images of your entry works. Each image should be JPEG, 72 dpi resolution and shortest dimension should be 800 pixels minimum and file size is within 0.5 MB for online selection purpose.
  4. We will announce a list of finalists that our judges selected on our website on 1st September. 
  5. If your work is selected please prepare to send the work to specified address in UK during the specified period.
  6. It is up to you to attend our opening party and award ceremony which will take place at La Galleria in October.

Entry Deadline

30 June (Midnight GMT) 2017


  • Old work which was produced within  last three years will be eiigible but if received any prizes in the past is not eligible. 
  • No theme for the work for EWAAC 2017.
  • You must have copyright for all your entry works.
  • Maximum size for artist who can deliver/collect works to/from the gallery for 2D work should be within 120 x 120 cm and, 3D work should be within 30 x 30 x 30 cm.
  • ​Maximum size of a box of work to send from abroad should be up to 160 cm total (width + height + length).
  • We recommend all selected exhibitors to secure insurance to cover for any damage or loss of their works as we will not take any responsibility during/befiore/after the exhibition.
  • Exhibitors can sell works at the exhibition or keep them if they wish to do so.
