APDA (Art, Photography and Digital Arts) Kyoto Award is a newly launched award in Kyoto by East West Artlink in addition to the popular EWAAC (East West Art Award Competition) London. APDA is mainly for photography and digital arts (except some fine arts) in order to help overseas artists to enter and exhibit simply at a low costs. APDA is open to any artists and photographers who wish to exhibit their work in Kyoto and open up new market in Asia.
30 works will be selected by available judges of EWAAC London and APDA Kyoto organizer.
We have the following categories for entry. We have support team to help overseas artists to save shipping costs for photography and digital art categories.

1) Photography : Genuine photography and no retouched.
2) Digital photography (with any retouched).
3) Digital Arts: CG, Digitally produced any art works.
4) Fine Art (2D or 3D): Only if the artist can bring it to the gallery (and collect it when close) in Kyoto by themselves.
​5) Fine art prints : you can take a high quality photo from your original art (2D only) and enter as same as digital arts.

  • Gold Prize : The winner can stay in Kyoto for 5 days free at the accommodation we provide (5-10th April) to attend APDA.
  • 30 Selected works : Selected works will be exhibited at APDA  Exhibition in Kyoto 2018​.
  • Selected photography and digital arts for overseas artists ... no need to ship from abroad if selected as our supporting team will help at small fee. If they wish to bring the work to the galley in Kyoto by themselves please do so on spacified dates.
  • All selected works and artists...All selected works will be showcased online and the works + artists will be promoted all over the world in English and Japanese.

  • Call for entries: Deadline extended to: 11 February 2018
  • Announcement of selected works ... 18 February, 2018
      (Results will be informed by email on 5th March).
  • APDA Kyoto Exhibition 2018 : April 8-12, 2018
  • Artists Exchange Party : 8 April (Sunday 3:00 - 6:00 pm).

  • 2 entries = £25  (minimum 2 entries required).
  • 3 entries = £38

Enter APDA Kyoto Award 2018

  • Download entry form and fill in and attach images of entry works and send with a zip or upload to Wetransfer (www.wetransfer.com ) You can upload up to 2GB free.
  • Each image must be in JPEG, 72 dpi resolution and shortest dimention should be 800 pixels minimum and file size is within 0.8 MB for online selection purpose.
  • Once selected we will inform you immediately together with instruction 'What to do next' so please follow it.
  • If your work is selected and wish to use our service you can just send high quality image as our team will do the rest.
  • If you wish to bring the work to the gallery please do so on 4th- 5th or between 10-11 am on 7th April at the latest.

  • Old work which was produced within last five years will be eiigible but if received any top prizes for any other competitions  in the past is not eligible. 
  • No theme for the entry work for APDA 2018.
  • We recommend all selected artists who entered photos and digital arts from outside Japan to use our supporting team service in order to save shipping costs and avoid taxation etc.
  • Maximum size of original 2D work which you wish to bring to the gallery should be within 1 m x 1 m if selected.
  • We recommend all selected exhibitors should take own insurance to cover as we cannot take any responsibility during / before / after the exhibition although we will do our best to handle everything with care.​
